Over the last four years ILBIJERRI Theatre Company has experienced a growing audience for our work. We believe this is reflective of a growing interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performance from audiences across the country. Internationally, there is clearly a market for Indigenous performance with many Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

Dublin Dance Festival is the highlight of the contemporary dance calendar in Ireland and this year the festival featured a long weekend of Australian work in an initiative titled, Small Island: Big Island. Boot Camp was an initiative delivered in 2012 by the Australia Council’s Market Development section in collaboration with Independent Producers Australia (IPA). The initiative provided intensive, three-month business coaching for emerging independent producers who were matched with highly regarded Australian producers. The Visiting International Publishers (VIPs) program is complete for another year. The Australia Council for the Arts VIPs program promotes rights sales of Australian titles in global markets and strengthens links between Australian and international publishers.
