Multicultural Arts Forum 2012

10 April 2012 Artery

This Friday and Saturday Groundswell presents the Multicultural Arts Forum 2012 at Carriageworks. The forum is a space for inclusive dialogue and networking for artists, arts workers, researchers and cultural policy decision-makers of all backgrounds. It’s time to discuss and decide upon actions that would reap the benefit of the enormous untapped cultural resources in Australia’s most culturally diverse state, NSW.

Speaking at the Multicultural Arts Forum is Australia Council’s Acting Director of the Inter-Arts Office Dr Ricardo Peach. Ricardo initiated Australia Council’s AlloSphere artist residency at the California NanoSystems Institute in the University of California, Santa Barbara, the Splendid Young and Emerging Artist initiative with the music festival Splendour in the Grass and the first government supported artist residency in Second Life. Ricardo is also the coordinator of the Arts in a multicultural Australia policy, one of five key areas within the Australia Council’s Cultural Engagement Framework.

Ricardo presents The Australia Council’s Cultural Engagement Framework and Multicultural Arts at 4pm on Saturday 14 April 2012.
